Country Music

Since I am a southern girl, I love Country Music. I listen to every type of music, but I grew up on country, so its my all time favorite. Here are some pictures from the different country music concerts that I have attended.

Marching Band

I have been involved in the marching band ever since high school. I marched in the colorguard for my 4 years of high school and my years in college. I still have a tie back to the marching band because I am a proud member of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority. We are there to help the band and make sure they have everything that they need to function. I am a charter member of the Iota Delta Chapter at West GA and love being a part of this family. We are the sister sorority to Kappa Kappa Psi National Band Fraternity. Here is a picture of both the Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi chapters here on the campus at West GA.

My family

I am very close to my family and we all love doing different activities together. Here are a few pictures showing my family and what we love:

Artists in Society

Artists are all over today's society even though other people may not know that they are an artist. There is not a way to determine who is an artist out of a group of people in society unless they have their artist portfolio or other things to resemble artwork.

Art and Film

Art and Film are two totally different things even though there are some films that can be considered works of art and others are not. A film is a work of art that someone has written and put all the separate pieces of art into on compilation. A film consists of costumes, the script, the backdrops, and the actors and actresses.

Travel

I love to travel and visit different places around the world. I have not had the chance to go overseas anywhere yet, but I look forward to that soon. I am getting ready to go on my third cruise and am very excited about it. We are traveling on the Royal Caribbean cruise line ship called Freedom of the Seas.
While on this cruise, we will visit St. Thomas and St. Maarten. I am looking forward to getting on the ship this weekend.

My favorite Color

Color is a big part of art in today's society. Mostly everyone in today's society enjoys seeing the art using different colors. My favorite color is purple. Using colors in artwork helps the piece stand out more for more people to see it.

I know what Art is...

Art can have many different meanings. I see Art as an expression of how someone is feeling at that certain time. It is to be made ugly, pretty, sad, disturbing, eclectic, and happy. It may take a human a while to get an artistic side, but when most people get started, then it just comes naturally. I do feel that I am artistic and have been artistic in many ways in my life. I participated in dance classes including tapp, jazz, and ballet. I love to take pictures, which is a very artistic. I also put my pictures in scrapbooks, so the creative side of decorating the pages with the pictures comes a little quicker to me than it used to.

Public Art

Public Art is something that is displayed outside a building for everyone to be able to see it. Here are a few examples of Public Art:

Culture

Art is considered a culture because art is a common thing that groups a certain group of people together with a common bond. Artists come together to help each other out and they care for each other like a family would. Culture is a word with many different meanings included a group of people with the same race, ideas, and goals. It is mainly a group of people that have one main thing in common between each other.

My favorite Artist

I am choosing Garth Brooks as my favorite music artist. Garth Brooks is a country music singer that is known for his music and music videos. His music portrays everyday life that everyone goes through and he shows that in the music videos. He has written songs about race not being an issue and many other topics. Here is a video of his song "The Thunder Rolls."

Poetry Slam

"Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

I love this piece of Architecture

I chose the Parthenon as my piece of Architecture. I think it is so amazing that even back in the older days, they were still able to come up with such a magnificent piece of architecture.

On the Graffiti Beat

Graffiti is definitely a form of art. It takes a artist a lot of time to come up with a creation as perfect as a graffiti drawing. Here is a form of Graffiti that was drawn on the side of truck.

Art Education in Schools

I feel that Art should stay in the schools for our students to be educated on the different forms and styles of Art. I think that the kids in todays society need to have a little art in thier curriculum to help them learn better. If you have kids that enjoy doing things in the Art aspect then they may want to go to school more often.

Diorama

I chose Music Education as my theme for my Diorama. I chose this because I think that music education should be a vital part in education. I feel that kids are able to show more of their personality through the music that they play. I was involved in the chorus in elementary school and then became involved with the band during football season, so I know that it was an important part of my education years.

My Brain

I would say that I am in the middle of the brain. I do have a bit of both sides as a part of me. From the left side of the brain, I have the quantitative side of the left brain and the creativity side of the right brain. I have always loved math and calculating numbers. I am a very avid scrapbooker which would show that I have the creativity side of the brain.

Fashion as Art

Fashion designers are considered artists. Depending on how someone wears different outfits can also be a form of art. All fashion designers work in many different ways to get the sort of fashion that they are looking for.

Dance as an Art

I chose a video of 100 single ladies in London doing the Beyonce Single Ladies dance. This video was done by many people, however; these 100 women stopped traffic in Piccadilly Circus to help Trident announce the free Beyonce concert they were hosting.

Michael Jackson's Thriller Video

This music video is a true work of art because of all the detail work that went into making it. The transformation that they create at the beginning of the video of him transforming into the werewolf really took a lot of work to get that to come together. The dance portion of the video is also a form of art.

Human Nature

This is a painting of a mountain scape with the sun shining on it. It was painted by Dawn Ross from a picture that her mother had taken. Dawn completed this artwork in 2005.

Human Condition

I chose this piece of artwork to depict Human Condition because it shows the family in their normal state of life.

Human Behavior

I chose this next piece of artwork to depict Human Behavior. It is titled "Bystanders" and was painted by Bruce Cegur.



I believe this shows Human Behavior because it shows people standing around waiting on or watching something. They are all showing a little bit of attitude like they are tired of waiting on it.

Human Struggle

I found that the following piece of artwork that was done by Pablo Picasso depicts human struggle during the war. The piece is titled "Guernica: An Ideal Depiction of Human Suffering.
